Book design is the art of incorporating the content, style, format, design, and sequence of the various components of a book into a coherent whole. In the words of Jan Tschichold, "Methods and rules that cannot be improved upon have been developed over centuries. To produce perfect books, these rules must be revived and applied." The front matter, or preliminaries, is the first section of a book and typically has the fewest pages. While all pages are counted, page numbers are generally not printed, whether the pages are blank or contain content.

Fox & Hare: Degrees Trainer
🌱🌼🌾

🌿 In a sunlit forest glade lived a clever fox named Rusty and a kind hare named Willow. Rusty was sly and quick, while Willow was known for being gentle and brave.

🍂 Every morning, the fox and the hare raced across the meadow. Rusty was faster than Willow, but Willow was more careful and smarter when crossing the old bridge. Their friendship grew stronger with each adventure.

🌸 One winter, the forest became colder than ever before. Rusty’s fur felt thicker and warmer than Willow's, but Willow had a cozy burrow hidden under the oak tree. "You are the kindest creature I know," said Rusty, sharing his dinner with the hare. Willow blushed; she thought Rusty was the most loyal friend in the whole forest.

🌼 As spring arrived, the two friends helped a little lost hedgehog find its family. The hedgehog’s mother was the happiest mom in the woodland. Rusty and Willow felt prouder than ever. "Nothing is the most wonderful than true friendship," whispered Willow under the blooming cherry tree. And the fox nodded — he knew that Willow was better at finding solutions, but together they were the strongest team.

🍃 Even now, when the sun sets behind the hills, Rusty and Willow sit side by side. The fox is taller than the hare, but Willow’s ears are longer and her heart is big. They proved that shorter distances don’t matter — only kindness does. And every creature in the glade agrees: their bond is the most beautiful treasure of all.
